BRASSAT FLIES HOME TO GERMANY, EARNS STAR VOUCHER
Steve Brassat, foreman, Northwest Detroit offi ce, is pictured holding a copy of
The Bulletin and a gold STAR voucher in front of a UEFA EURO 2024 billboard
after fl ying into Germany this summer.
Brassat took a two-week trip with his wife and two daughters to Rövershagen,
Germany, to visit his grandparents and spend time in the village he grew up
in."It's a blessing that my children get to know their great grandparents. My
grandfather is 96, and my grandmother is turning 90 this year," Brassat said.
Alongside having a positive vacation experience, Brassat was recently
recognized through the R/C Safer Through Achievements and Recognition
(STAR) program, one that recognizes employees for making safe decisions
for themselves and their teammates.
Brassat's coworker was conducting pre-trip and aerial lift inspections to start
the day. He was in the middle of remotely fl ying the bucket of a bucket truck
outside when a thunderstorm rolled in. A large strike of lightning appeared
in the sky, and Brassat ran out to warn him so they could ground the bucket
and turn everything off before going back inside.
"I was happy to receive the fi rst ticket, especially as it is a gold voucher,"
Brassat said. "It was pretty cool."
Thanks for taking us with you, Steve!
EMPLOYEE TAKES SUMMER TRIP TO UNITED KINGDOM
Quentin Stewart, project manager, Utility Vegetation Management services, Davey
Resource Group, is pictured in front of Edinburgh Castle in Edinburgh, Scotland. He
traveled to the United Kingdom with his wife and two children. His goal while visiting
was to not only connect with his Scottish roots, but to also enjoy a Taylor Swift concert
alongside his family in Edinburgh, Scotland.
"I've always wanted to go to Scotland," Stewart said. "Forestry was being practiced
everywhere. I saw nurseries, timber activities in the parks, and royal gardens with
arborists on site. The residential landscaping was so incredible and historic."
The family visited Edinburgh Castle and Stirling Castle. They also spent a few days
in London, England, taking a trip to Buckingham Palace and walking around the city.
"If you're thinking about going to the United Kingdom, do it. You'll be glad you did,"
Stewart said. "My family emigrated from there about six generations ago. To be able
to experience the history and hospitality myself is so wonderful."
Thanks for taking us with you, Quentin!
