SEED CAMPUS PROGRESSING RAPIDLY
The interior of the new climbing training center, which will
feature windows on the lower and upper-level hallways, in
addition to a second-fl oor balcony space, for instructors
and employees to observe climbing training in-progress.
The main building on the Davey SEED Campus
under construction in early September. Sections of
the building, from right, include: The event/banquet
space; the main entrance and lobby area, showing
exposed steel; offi ce, meeting and classroom
spaces (enclosed in wood paneling); and the
climbing training center, on the far end.
The structure for the barn and event space is comprised of reclaimed timbers
from a historic barn, dating to the late 1800s, that stood on the property where
the SEED Campus is under construction.
The two structures completely enclosed and painted in gray are the classroom spaces in the main building. These two classrooms will
be connected by an outdoor courtyard. The classrooms will double the classroom space currently available for trainings and meetings
at the Davey Institute on the corporate campus.
Construction on the Davey SEED (Science, Employee Education and
Development) Campus is progressing at a rapid pace, as an average of
over 60 workers are on site daily enclosing the main building structures,
installing electrical, plumbing and other utilities in the main building.
Work continues on the larger campus, with the fi nal plantings for the
arboretum space wrapping up and work progressing on the greenhouse
and other campus facilities.
