DAVEY BOARD VISITS
MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL
Berta Gonzalez, production associate, Mickman Brothers, Inc., a
Davey company, CLS, demonstrates constructing a 25-inch Balsam fir
wreath at Mickman Brothers Nursery and Garden Center. Located in
Ham Lake, Minnesota, the Mickman Brothers territory is comprised
of approximately 80 year-round employees, enhanced by around 200
seasonal employees.
Jay Schroeder, foreman, Twin Cities Wood Products office, is pictured
using a wheel loader to load mulch into the walking floor trailer of the
semi-truck. Located in South St. Paul, Minnesota, the Twin Cities Wood
Products facility is unique as it houses its wood waste processing
operation, along with CLS' Minneapolis territory, and Residential/
Commercial (R/C) services' South St. Paul office. The wood products
operation processes woody debris generated by multiple Davey
operations in the Twin Cities area, and the operation is certified by
the Mulch and Soil Council as an elite bulk soil manufacturer thanks
to the high-quality mulch product created there.
Davey Resource Group's (DRG) Environmental Consulting services'
Gail Nozal (on the right, speaking), area manager, and Chuck Hanna,
principal consultant, speak to the board about the details of DRG's green
infrastructure project at Hamline Church United Methodist in St. Paul,
Minnesota. DRG helped the church create a beautiful greenspace to
address water intrusion issues by converting parking lot spaces into a
greenway path that absorbs 190,000 gallons of stormwater annually.
Laura Wimer, director of client experience & contract management,
Eastern Utility services, speaks to members of the board about the work
crews perform when they stopped to visit employees who work on
Eastern Utility's Xcel Energy account.
Wyley Lapinski, irrigation service technician, Mickman Brothers
Irrigation territory, Commercial Landscape Services (CLS) checks the
irrigation system at Target Field. An interesting fact about Target Field
is that Mickman Brothers consulted on the planning and construction
of the field. This included the installation of the irrigation for the baseball
playing surface, prior to the opening of the stadium in 2010. Today,
CLS crews provide the planting material for the stadium's landscape
planters that line the outfield walls.
