NEW SAFETY PROGRAM RECOGNIZES 'STARS' IN R/C SERVICES
This summer, U.S. Residential/Commercial offices are
implementing a new program designed to strengthen their
safety culture and reduce incidents through recognition of
employees who perform activities that prevent accidents.
The new R/C services incentive program, Safer Through
Achievements and Recognition, or STAR, aims to encourage
the kinds of behaviors that happen constantly throughout
the day in every office where employees make decisions
that keep themselves and their teammates safe.
"The focus of this program is about preventing harm before
it happens by rewarding those activities and safe behaviors
that we know can lead to injury reduction and address
improvements in our systems," said Phil Snyder, vice
president, East Atlantic, R/C services.
Market managers in U.S. R/C services will be introducing
the program to employees through in-person visits to each
of their territories throughout the month of June. Market
managers will explain how the STAR program works, its
goals, metrics, recognition rewards, and more during each
individual office visit.
The program is being managed and supported through
collaborative efforts from R/C services leadership with
support from the corporate health and safety department. The
service line also appointed a program coordinator, Andrew
Alderson, for the
STAR initiative.
Snyder said they
are hopeful the
new STAR program
reorients the way
people think about their daily achievements in safety in the
same way they think about accomplishments in productivity,
financial results, client experience and employee ownership.
"If we can further elevate safety through the STAR
program, that's our goal," Snyder said. "It starts with more
of a focus on the things we got right and fuels continuous
improvement with team pride."
