5 March/April 2024 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Another example of the way Davey is working to make as many benefits available to people as early in their Davey career as possible is our change to the eligibility to participate in Davey health insurance. Effective Jan. 1, new hires are now eligible for health insurance benefits on their first day of employment at Davey. This should be a great benefit for people coming into Davey who had health insurance with their prior company and are fearful of a time gap in coverage that a change in employment can cause. As a company, our single biggest challenge to success in the future is our ability to attract employees who we can rely on to work side by side with us to make our company successful. The improvements we make to benefit Being an employee owner at Davey gives you a voice in the company. The best way for you to make a direct impact is by voting on proposals for the Annual Meeting of Shareholders. In April, you will receive an email from id@proxyvote.com. Cast your votes before the meeting by clicking "Vote Now" in your email from id@proxyvote.com. The deadlines for voting shares are as follows: • May 16, 2024, for shares held in the 401K plan • May 20, 2024, for shares held directly The 2024 Annual Meeting of Shareholders will be online and in person at the Davey Institute on May 21 at 5 p.m. HOW TO CAST YOUR VOTE FOR THE ANNUAL MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS programs to enhance the lives of current employees, and attract future employees, are the best way for us to achieve our strategic plan objective, which is "to make Davey a great place to work while delivering client and shareholder value." Voting to approve this change really is a vote for the collective good of the company. Allowing new hires to become employee owners earlier in their careers will help Davey attract, engage and retain the type of people who will help the company continue to be successful.
