19 March/April 2024 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN Micah Fazio, supervisor, Washington, Davey Tree Surgery Company's crew removed hazard trees and trimmed trees under powerlines for 12 weeks for Wahkiakum County PUD over a 20-mile section of State Route 4 in Cathlamet, Washington. "Wahkiakum County PUD needed assistance as their tree trimming needs had gotten to be more than they could handle and more than their equipment could successfully reach," Fazio said. "The section of highway had some real hot spots for them where they'd have to constantly go out and fix the wires due to proximity to the coast. It's right on the Columbia River, and the winds come up through the Columbia Gorge." The crew created 10 feet of clearance on primary lines and neutral wires.
