LEADERSHIP
Above: This aerial image shows the pathways under construction for
the arboretum that will be part of the SEED Campus. The arboretum
will be organized by eight "rooms" grouped by like plantings in the
following arrangements: Four Season Garden; Native Ohio Garden;
Water Garden; Pollinator Garden; Flowering Shrubs; Conifer Collection;
Shade Trees; and Ornamental Trees.
Several major elements of the Davey SEED (Science, Employee
Education and Development) campus have progressed this fall.
The walking paths were installed and paved in the arboretum,
for which more than 300 trees started going in the ground in
November. Construction finished on the pond. Foundations were
poured for the main building, and
steel started rising as workers
erected the building skeleton.
SEED CAMPUS PROGRESSES
Above: A closer view of some of
the pathways in the arboretum
show how the paved walkways will
weave throughout the eight different
arboretum rooms. A total 6,650 linear
feet of pathway were paved in
the arboretum, which will be open to
the public.

on the SEED Campus, in early October.
The pond will be approximately 2 acres
in size. A total of 460 tons of bentonite
material was used to create a wa-
ter-proof liner for the pond. A bridge is
scheduled to be installed this year to
carry the SEED Campus main driveway
across the pond.
Above: Steel for the main building on the SEED Campus started rising
in late November. The main facility on the campus will be approximately
70,000 square feet in total. The target opening date for the main
building is the first quarter of 2025.
