INTEGRITY
Cory Mack, UVM technician, Davey Resource
Group, Utility Vegetation Management services,
was commuting home from work in Potomac,
Maryland when he saw a small brush fire on the
side of River Road.
"I safely pulled over, grabbed my fire extinguisher
and was able to put out around 75% of the fire,"
Mack said.
After controlling
the fire, Mack
called 911 and
waited to leave until
firefighters arrived.
"When you see
something, you should
say something," Mack
said. "I think that
applies to a lot of
what we do at Davey
when you see an uncertain situation."
DRG EMPLOYEE HELPS
QUELL BRUSH FIRE
CLIMBING INTO ACTION
Rob Kruljac, assistant district manager, North Pittsburgh office,
recently volunteered to rescue a cat, one of many saved during
his career, from a tree in North Park, Pennsylvania.
"If I hear one is in distress, I have to go," Kruljac said after he
saved the cat's life after failed rescue attempts by police and
firefighters to save her from her week-long stay in the tree.
"I got up there, and I just rested and talked to the cat to get
it comfortable," Kruljac said. "I knew it wasn't going to be
aggressive, so I just reached out to create a relationship, and
it just came right to me."

VICTORIA EMPLOYEES HANG BANNERS FOR LOCAL TEAM
Davey employees of the Davey Tree Expert Co. of
Canada, Limited's Victoria Residential office were
approached by local BC Minor Baseball league team,
the Victoria Seawolves, with a request to help hang
banners along their field's fence. Victoria Residential
office employee Ethan Ramirez, apprentice, happily
obliged. In return, the team gifted Davey one of their
very own banners to hang among the others.
"This is our second year working with them, and
we hope to continue working together for years to
come," said Dan Sharp, district manager, Victoria
Residential office.
A bucket truck was used to hang sponsorship banners at
the Victoria Seawolves' baseball field.
