27 July/August 2023 | THE DAVEY BULLETIN DAVEY AROUND THE WORLD Send us a photo of you holding a copy of The Bulletin on your next adventure to bulletin@davey.com. We'll do our best to feature it in an upcoming Davey Around the World! DRG Employee Vacations in Portugal John Rohan, project manager, UVM southeast, Davey Resource Group, traveled to the city of Chaves in northern Portugal to visit his girlfriend's family. After a few days, Rohan went south to explore Lisbon, the second-oldest European capital city, and enjoyed the city's gardens and architecture. "We thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine on our trip around Portugal," Rohan said. "This summer, maybe we'll head even further South and see the beaches of Algarve." Wedding Anniversary in Hawaii Eddie Hill, production manager in Davey's Cleveland North territory, visited Hawaii with his wife Lisa for their 24th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed walks along the shorelines while also swimming and exploring the Pacific Ocean by boat and submarine. "It's taken a long time to realize that adventuring is good for my soul and well-being," Hill said. "There will be many more return trips to Hawaii, God willing." DRG EMPLOYEE TAKES ON THE GREAT FLORIDA CATTLE DRIVE Moe Wachoski is pictured with her horse, Hershey's Kiss. Moe Wachoski, utility designer, Davey Resource Group, Utility Asset Management services, recently participated in the 500th Great Florida Cattle Drive in the Ocala, Florida area. She and her Carolina Marsh Tacky horse, Hershey's Kiss, spent five days and 80 miles primitively camping and driving cattle. They traveled on lands including the largest cattle ranch east of the Mississippi, Deseret Ranch, and Deer Park's Kempfer Ranch. Wachoski got involved in riding just a few years ago and joined the drive at the recommendation of her sister and friends to be a part of the historical event. "My whole week was just this wonderful experience of meeting people, learning about the history, seeing different parts of Florida and partaking in this wonderful event," Wachoski said. Wachoski now participates in endurance riding with her horse because of the confidence the drive gave her. "Life is short, so take the opportunity to enjoy the little and big things," Wachoski said. "If you want to do something, enjoy it, and don't be afraid to try it." DAVEY PEOPLE
