A LEADING
ENVIRONMENTALIST
This issue of the Bulletin continues
our remembrance of our company
founder John Davey, as we
commemorate 100 years since his
passing in 1923.
John's pioneering work in the science
of tree surgery, and his publication of
the book The Tree Doctor, at the turn
of the 20th century earned him the
nickname "Father of Tree Surgery."
Turn to the back page of this issue
to learn how John's early work in
founding Davey Tree compares
with other early environmental
preservation efforts in North America.
GO DIGITAL, PLANT A TREE
Active employees can plant a tree
with just a few mouse clicks.
This year we announced a new, digital
delivery option for the Davey Bulletin.
For every employee who chooses to
become a digital subscriber this year,
and stop receiving a print copy in the
mail at home, we will plant a tree
with the Arbor Day Foundation.
For details on how to become a
digital Bulletin subscriber, log on to
DaveyConnect, send an email to
bulletin@davey.com or call
800-447-1667 ext. 8615.
