The Tree Care Industry Association's (TCIA) Marketing Excellence Awards recognize the efforts of those who deliver innovative approaches to marketing campaigns in the tree care industry. Davey's corporate communications and marketing departments earned a Marketing Excellence Award for Davey's Talking Trees with Davey Tree podcast and the Talking Trees series for tree & lawn care videos. The awards were given at the 2022 Tree Care Industry (TCI) Expo in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Ohio Green Industry Association's (OGIA) Ohio High School Landscape Olympics (OHLO) career fair and competition, held in Wooster, Ohio at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute over two days, provided early career exploration options in the green industry to more than 200 students from 15 high schools. Davey sponsored the competition. Several Davey employees spoke to students about green industry careers during the career fair, including Megan Braden, Midwest regional recruiter; Chris Jancsurak, project manager, Cleveland East territory, Commercial Landscape Services (CLS); and Kelly Leinard, account manager, Columbus Commercial territory. On the second day of the event, the snack table, provided by Davey for the competitors, was stocked and run by Tony Clum, operations manager, CLS Midwest North; Megan Braden; Mike March, account manager, Cleveland North territory, and Mike Dombrosky, branch manager, Cleveland East territory. Matt Salvator, arborist skills trainer, Davey Institute, assisted with the climbing event, hosted by the Ohio Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (OCISA).
