DAVEY AROUND THE WORLD
Vladislav Michnevich visited Concordia, an ancient
Greek temple, in the Valley of the Temples in
Agrigento, Sicily, Italy. Michnevich is a consulting
arborist, Davey Resource Group Canada.
The Concordia is located on the southern coast of
Sicily. It's the largest and best-preserved Doric temple
in Sicily. On par with the Parthenon, it's considered
A TOUR OF ITALY
to be one of the best-preserved Doric temples in the
world. Doric architecture is the oldest and simplest of
the three main orders of classical Greek architecture.
While at the temple, he found a roughly 500-year-old
olive tree. The trees growing in the area are wild olive,
Nebrodi firs, Cyprus, stone pines and palms, he said.
Thank you, Vladislav, for taking the Bulletin along on your trip to the ancient world!
