WE ASKED, YOU ANSWERED
Every issue of the Bulletin is about
and for you, the employees of Davey.
That's why, in the fall, we asked
employees to take part in a reader
survey on DaveyConnect.
We've combed through the responses,
and we've gathered valuable insights
into how we can make the Bulletin
better for you.
DAVEY EMPLOYEES
READ THE BULLETIN
According to our respondents, the
overwhelming majority of them read
the Bulletin.
A total 70 percent of respondents
read the Bulletin either "always" or
"most of the time."
Additionally, 24 percent of respondents
say they read the Bulletin "sometimes,"
and only 6 percent of respondents
said they do not read the Bulletin.
WHAT DO YOU READ?
The most-read section of the Bulletin
is Davey People, which features
personal news about your colleagues'
careers and personal lives.
The sections of the Bulletin that fall
under Davey People are: Transitions,
covering promotions and appointments;
Service Awards, highlighting employees'
milestone years of service; In the
Spotlight, recognizing employee
awards and accomplishments;
Retirements, announcing employees
who are retiring; Retiree Corner,
checking in with individual retirees;
Davey Families, sharing birth and
family news; and Memorials.
YOU WANT MORE STORIES
An overwhelming number of
respondents, 87 percent, said they
want the Bulletin to have more stories.
Specifically, you said you would like to
see more stories about local offices'
and operations' project spotlights,
more field employee photos and
stories, and more collaboration stories.
That's an interesting challenge for
us because each Bulletin only has
so much space. So, in order to have
more of some stories that means we
will have to have fewer other types
of stories.
HOW DOES YOUR
FEEDBACK HELP?
Davey's corporate communications
team is committed to making the
Bulletin the best it possibly can.
Over the course of the next year, we'll
incorporate your feedback into each
issue. You'll see some experimentation
with new – and old – story formats.
It also means that, in order to do so,
we need to hear from you.
Did your office work with another
service line on an interesting
project? Did a member of your
team earn an award or some other
recognition? Does an employee on
your crew exemplify one of our core
company values?
Tell us about it! We need you to
share your stories with us. Send your
Bulletin story ideas via email to
bulletin@davey.com or call 800-447-
1667 ext. 8615.
