4 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | September/October 2021 Q. DO EMPLOYEES HAVE A SAY IN HOW DAVEY WORKS? remainder of 2021, into 2022 and beyond. On employee engagement, we heard your feedback on wanting more training and learning opportunities. Virtually, we continue to refine and increase educational materials available on the LMS. There, we remain committed to clear, focused and engaging materials, a preference expressed by many who responded to our call for feedback. We have expanded the LMS team within the Institute, and they are working closely with stakeholders across the company to help provide focused, additional instructional and training materials on requested topics. These can vary broadly from tree inspection methods to proper turfgrass fertilization or aerial rescue procedures. On JEDI issues, Davey is at the start of a long and valuable journey we are committed to seeing through. A corporate responsibility employee survey distributed in June informed us in establishing a multi-disciplinary team. That team will determine how JEDI relates to our employees, the communities where we work and live, and how JEDI applies to the intersection of the environment and climate. We are starting with our employees on JEDI matters. We have established four discovery teams, which will help define action items to accomplish in 2022 and 2023, on topics including recruiting and A. Yes. We are accountable to, and work for, each other as an employee-owned company. That means everyone's input is equally important. This year we conducted a number of surveys of employees that included requests for feedback on a variety of topics, including but not limited to employee ownership, employee engagement, corporate responsibility, and Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) issues. Your responses to those surveys are already setting in motion meaningful changes within the Davey Company. On employee ownership, one common request we received was for more education on how employee ownership works at Davey. To address our employees' needs, the corporate treasury team is working with corporate communications and the Davey Institute to create a series of short videos, 2 minutes or less, explaining different elements of employee ownership. The videos answer questions ranging from "What is a stock?" to "How do I enroll in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)?" Three informative videos about employee ownership have already been made available to employees and can be viewed on the DaveyConnect app or on the Davey Learning Management System (LMS). Additional videos will be released through the brand advocacy, retention, training and employee resource groups. These are only a few examples of how we are responding to your questions and suggestions. Employee feedback remains a driving force in the success of our company. Thank you to all those who have provided their input so far. Additional employee surveys are planned, so look for more opportunities in the future to share your thoughts on how we work at Davey and make your voice heard.
