7 DECADES OF BRUSH CHIPPING
An unidentified Davey
employee feeds brush into
a chipper in the 1950s in
this photo from the Davey
historical archives. Brush
chippers were introduced
to the field in the 1950s and
improved efficiency greatly.
Prior to the advent of the
brush chipper, Davey crews
had to haul brush away from a
job if it could not be disposed
of on site. Brush chippers
have undergone numerous
mechanical advancements
over the past 70 years and
remain a crucial piece of
equipment for any tree
care crew.
