VIRTUAL TRAINING EXPANDS FOR 2021
We are all hopeful 2021 offers a fresh
start – and possibly even a shift toward
"normal" life – compared with 2020.
It's unclear yet how different 2021
will be, but one change is certain.
This year, virtual training is expanding
for Davey employees through the
Davey Institute and its "Winter
Season of Education and Training."
This year, the Institute expanded its
virtual education program to offer
daily educational presentations and
weekly course highlights on Davey's
Learning Management System. Both
virtual elements will be supplemented
with in-person training sessions held
in compliance with all applicable
COVID-19 protocol and guidelines.
Learn about new virtual training
sessions on page 4 of this issue
from Davey Chairman, President and
CEO Pat Covey.
CORPORATE POLICIES
NOW DIGITAL
Historically, the first issue of the year
of The Bulletin published Davey's
corporate policies. It served to help
start the new year reaffirming our
commitment to a safe, ethical, inclusive
and compliant work environment.
This year, Davey's eight key corporate
policies can now be found online on
our website, Davey.com.
Employees can now find online and
on-demand Davey's Whistleblower
Reporting Policy, Code of Ethics,
Code of Ethics for Financial Matters,
Harassment Policy, Equal Employment
Opportunity Policy, Environmental
Policy, Privacy Policy and Safety Policy.
Turn to page 7 to learn where to find
the corporate policies on Davey.com.
TREE TECH
Virtual presentations and meetings
proved the norm for 2020.
Last year concluded with several
major green industry conferences
shifting to virtual gatherings later in
the year. This included the ISA 2020
International Virtual Conference, which
moved from July to December, and
the Partners in Community Forestry
Conference, which several Davey
Resource Group employees were
featured at as presenters in November.
This issue includes coverage from
those and more virtual events, which
highlight just a few of the many
ways Davey employees showed their
versatility and ability to adapt quickly
to a virtual environment.
This issue also features some
interesting, in-person tree tech. One
story spotlights how Wetland Studies
and Solutions, Inc., uses ground-
penetrating radar to examine tree
roots underground. Another feature
explains how the South Austin office
uses sonic tomography to determine
the health of a tree's canopy.
This year, we can all look forward
to Davey employees' continued
willingness to embrace and engage
with the latest technology to serve our
employees, clients and shareholders.
That's one aspect of 2020 that we don't
want to see go away any time soon.
