Eligibility
• An employee must have a minimum of 1,800
paid hours during the calendar year.
• In order to receive credit for being in the
foreman/sales service category, an employee
must have been paid a minimum of 1,500 hours
in that position.
• An employee must be on active status as of
Dec. 31 of the year.
• Employees who are laid off will be reviewed
by the Safety department in conjunction with
operations. If the layoff is of a permanent nature,
it will be treated as a voluntary quit. If the layoff
is temporary (200 days or fewer), the employee's
record will be reinstated upon the employee's
return to work. However, the employee will not
be given credit for the time he/she is off.
• Employees who are released or voluntarily quit
during the calendar year will break the sequence
of their safety record. Prior credit for the
employee's safety record will not be restored
unless past service is restored.
Disqualifiers
• An employee cannot have an
OSHA recordable lost time
injury for the calendar year;
and in the case of a foreman,
no worker on his/her crew can
have an OSHA recordable lost
time injury for the calendar year.
• An employee cannot have any preventable
vehicular incidents for the calendar year; and
in the case of a foreman, no worker on his/her
crew can have any preventable vehicular incidents
for the calendar year.
• An employee cannot have any single preventable
property damage claim over $350 (or $500 for
Canada); and in the case of a foreman, no worker
on his crew can have any single preventable
property damage claim over $350 (or $500
for Canada).
Eligibility for inclusion on the Safety Honor Road is
determined by the Davey corporate safety department.
These criteria are effective for the calendar year 2019.
