3. CARE PACKAGE:
KENT SHOP CREW
Employees at the Kent Shop assembled
and shipped care packages to our operations
across the U.S. and Canada. Care packages
included a gallon of hand sanitizer with a
pump, 2-ounce refillable bottles with lids,
Davey wipes and green bandannas. Packages
shipped out daily in mid-April and every
Davey operation in the U.S. received a care
package while Canadian operations received
face coverings. Big thanks go out to our
providers, including Arborwear, Newfound
Identity, Cleand and Bulk Apothecary.

Craig Holcomb and Bob Penix assisted.
4. STITCH SUPPORT: MASK
MAKER SARAH HALFORD
Sarah Halford, business analyst, DRG,
Asset Management, along with her daughter
Maddie spent time sewing roughly 50 masks
for hospital visitors and healthcare workers
not working the frontlines of the pandemic.
Some were donated to hospitals while
others went to family and friends. It was
an opportunity to help from home, teach
her daughter to sew and boost her mental
health, Halford said.
2. A CLASS ACT:
DAVE PRAHL
Dave Prahl, sales and service technician,
South Pittsburgh office, was minding his
own business at the grocery store when he
overheard Helen Schultz in a nearby checkout
line having an issue with her credit card.
Prahl recognized how dire this situation was,
especially during a pandemic. Prahl, wearing
his Davey uniform, stepped up and paid for
her groceries so she would not go home
empty handed. It turned out Schultz is a
client of Prahl's. "It was ironic I actually knew
her," he said. "At first I had no idea who it
was. She's been a client forever." Schultz said
she at first did not recognize Prahl because
the kind of service he provided meant they
had very little contact, only waves from afar.
"I am eternally grateful," Schultz said.

5. DISTANCE LEARNING: SHAWN SKILTON
Shawn Skilton created practical, informative courses for an
online learning system for students in a local high school forestry
and landscape management program. The students can now
continue their education for the program while schooling from
home, and Skilton even sends weekly reports on student
progress to the teachers.
1. A BUTTON TO HELP:
PATRICIA HOOVER
Noticing that the elastic bands on face
masks hurt your ears after some time,
Patricia Hoover, coordinator, Chicago
Fleet Services, created a headband with
a regular button attached. The button acts
to relieve stress on the ears so nurses
and first responders can focus on helping.
Initial sets went to groups in Kenosha,
Wisconsin, and Naperville, Illinois.
