DAVEY AROUND THE WORLD
A LANDMARK FOR ARBORISTS
While visiting New Brunswick, Canada, Charlene Urquhart,
client experience coordinator, and David Thurrott, sales and
services coordinator, both from The Care of Trees (TCOT)
Mid-Atlantic TPLR office, took their daughter Lillian, 2,
to the world's largest axe in Nackawic, New Brunswick.
Urquhart and Thurrott are originally from New Brunswick
and spend a few weeks there each year visiting family.
Neither had seen the axe despite living by it, Thurrott said.
The axe sits in a beautiful park, which pays homage to the
importance of natural resources and the history of New
Brunswick, Urquhart said.

The trip to see the axe was a spur of the
moment idea. Charlene Urquhart and David
Thurrott said Lillian was in a good mood that
day and it was something they had wanted
to visit, so they decided to make it happen.
"Forestry and logging have always been a huge part of
the culture and the way of life there," she said. "My father
and grandfather were both loggers, so it was interesting
to see and to read the history and the evolution of
forestry in New Brunswick."
Urquhart and Thurrott made some great family memories
with Lillian that day.
"Our daughter has taught us the importance of slowing
down and making the most of opportunities when they
present themselves," Urquhart said.
