DAVEY AROUND THE WORLD
HIKING, VIEWS
AND FRIENDSHIP
Jonathan Raleigh, sales and services
coordinator, and Andrew Ronan, trimmer,
both in the East Denver R/C office,
decided to hike up Mount Galbraith
in Golden, Colorado, to take in the
spectacular views at the top. They were
joined by Raleigh's wife Shannon and
Ronan's girlfriend Melissa Harris.
"We've done a couple of hikes and
motorcycle rides together," Raleigh
said. "We enjoy hiking together."
It was about a 5-mile hike to get to the
top of the roughly 7,200-foot peak, and
it was a 90-degree day in the desert,
Ronan said. Mount Galbraith is only
accessible to hikers and provides views
of Golden, Colorado, the plains and the
Continental Divide.
"It gives you the feeling of being
outside the city while being right next
to the city," Ronan said.
Raleigh said for most of the trip you are
engulfed in the canyons and the trees
before reaching the summit.
"Once you get over the top of the
mountain, you can see the view and the
city," Raleigh said. "It was really nice to
come around that corner and see that."
