6 THE DAVEY BULLETIN | March/April 2019 John Arico John Arico has been promoted to operations vice president of residential services for Davey's Canadian operations. "John has significantly contributed to the growth and success of our resi- dential operations," said Mike Nash, vice president and general manager, Canadian Residential operations. "His commitment to providing excellent client services and creating opportunities for employee development and engagement will continue to strengthen our Canadian Residential services." Arico started with Davey in 1993 and has held various positions of increasing responsibility since, including assistant district manager of the Toronto West office and district manager of the Toronto East office. In 2011, he was promoted to area operations manager for Ontario Residential services and operations. In 2014, Arico was promoted to regional vice president of Ontario Residential operations. He is a former Davey President's Council member and a 1995 D.I.T.S. graduate. Arico is a graduate of the Sir Sandford Fleming College. Darran Malcolm Darran Malcolm has been promoted to operations vice president for Davey's Canadian operations. "Darran's experience in both residential and utility services gives him a unique perspective on how to provide excellent client experiences," said Blair Veitch, vice president and general manager, Canadian Utility. "We're confident he will excel as he continues to work to grow our operations." Malcolm joined Canadian operations in 2001 as a spray technician in the Mississauga R/C office. He joined a tree care crew in 2002 and worked his way up to foreman. In 2011 he was promoted to technical skills trainer. In 2014 he transitioned from R/C services and was promoted to area manager, Ontario Utility west. In 2017 Malcolm was promoted to regional vice president, Ontario Utility services. Malcolm is a current member of the Davey President's Council. He is a D.I.T.S. graduate, an ISA Certified Arborist ® and ISA Certified Utility Arborist ® . Malcolm is a 2002 graduate of the urban arboriculture program at Humber College. Brian Chromey Brian Chromey has been promoted to vice president of Wetland Studies and Solutions, Inc. (WSSI), a Davey company. Chromey has over 23 years of experience with WSSI. In his new role, he will oversee the engineering and survey departments as well as the southern Virginia offices of Tidewater, Richmond and Roanoke. "One of the growth objectives for WSSI was expanding into southern Virginia, and now we have three offices," said Ken Joehlin, vice president and general manager, Davey Resource Group (DRG) environmental consulting. "I'm confident that with Brian's strong leadership and years of dedication to WSSI that the three offices under his guidance will continue to thrive and offer unmatched services to their clients." Chromey previously served as director, engineering, WSSI. He holds a bachelor's degree in urban systems engineering from George Mason University and is a licensed professional engineer in 18 states.
