He pushed me through DIGM, Plant Health Care, advanced leadership and now D.I.T.S. He didn't push Davey as a small company. He pushed it as, we are a family. The corporate derby preceded the annual soap box derby, which was held the following weekend. Davey employees Mike Boyle, assistant shop supervisor, Aaron Lowther, mechanic, and Don Williams, warehouse administrator, at the Kent Shop built two Davey derby cars. Joy piloted one while Craig Holcomb, vice president, operations support, drove the second car, which was shaped like a Davey box truck. Holcomb was eliminated in the second round, and Joy nearly made it to the final four cars. "It's a fun event," Joy said. "Davey has been associated with the United Way for a long time. This is a good, local event Northeast Ohio is known for, and it's good for Davey to have a presence there."
