The capital city of Cuba welcomed
Davey retiree Rick Edson as he traveled
to Havana on a mission of peace.
Edson retired in 2017 as secretary/
business manager in the Livermore
office for the Davey Tree Surgery
Company. A few months later, he made
the trip to Cuba with several fellow
members of the Presbyterian church.

Edson said, while there, they
stayed with the congregation
of La Primera Iglesia Presbyteriana
de Havana, in the central Havana
neighborhood. They made the
trek hopeful to establish a
cooperative ministry.
"The experience has stayed with
me as I fondly recall interacting
with the faithful, though poor in
material well- being, people I met,"
Edson said. "I plan to journey there
again to build on the relationships
kindled during my trip."
